This is Gestuz

Gestuz is one of my favorite labels.  The way they design leather jackets is remarkable.  I have the colorblock leather jacket from last season, and I always get compliments when I wear it out.  I just wanted to share some of my favorite looks from their Spring 2012 collection.

The leather gilet in that first look is definite a must have for me.  It has that amazing distressed color look to the leather, like my Muubaa jacket.  And I love all the studding on the chest.  I've also gotten really obsessed with parkas, and that Gestuz one looks like the right match for me.  I like the knitting on the cuff.  I always love how easy and comfortable their pieces seem.  Wearing Gestuz is always so fun for me!

This is prismatic

I'm having too much fun with my new camera.  I'm still trying to find the right film stock to use with it.  In the first picture, I'm wearing my distressed grey Muubaa jacket.  I love it.  It's the most comfy leather jacket I have right now, and I like that it kinda looks like denim from far away.  I usually wear it with a hoody underneath...I know, it makes me look like a street rat, but it feels so comfy!!

The second picture is from a Claw Machine in Las Vegas.  The Attack of the Domos.  Beware!  Run inside, lock the doors, and throw out the key!!

This is colorblock.

I know!  It's another leather jacket post.  I still am seriously obsessed with them.

I was just searching around net-a-porter last night when I found this DKNY colorblock jacket.  Isn't it awesome?  Usually I don't like beige leather, but  I love the light shades of color that come together to make this jacket.  It makes this motorcycle jacket more feminine and totally suitable for spring.

I really love the white flip collar.  Such a nice pop of white to the whole thing.

This is Acne.

Here are my favs from Acne's Pre-Fall 2012 collection.

The stripe motif is fantastic.  Maybe I'm really into white right now, but I adore the white striped shirt and pant outfit.  It kinda reminds me of Clockwork Orange.  I like the white striped cropped top so much!  The seams on it are so unusual that it really makes plain old stripes look more fun!

Which ones are you favorites??

This is Jacquelyn.

Messing around with my new Yashica T4 camera.  The focus is a little tricky :(  but I had fun getting a little gangsta in these photos.  These Alexander Wang Jacquelyn boots are probably the tallest boots I have.  The platform is intense, and yes looks like you'll fall in an instant, but these boots are probably the most comfy heels (of this height) that I have.  I mean yes, if you bump me at the hip, I may topple over...but these boots are great for trekking around the city and flat surfaces.

This is Zemelka Pirowska.

This is part 2 of the post before this.  As I continued to peruse the website for Zemelka Pirowska (where you can find that amazing batik jacket) I saw that they not only sell clothes, but they also sell jewelry, furniture, lights.  Literally everything on this website is a work of art and design.  It's like buying your own museum for your house and closet :)  Steep price tags, but some fun eye candy for your daily inspiration!

This is golden.

These are my two favorite dresses from the Golden Globes last night.  Claire Danes in that black and white J. Mendel Dress was an absolute showstopper.  The detail on the shoulder and on the cut-out back is intricate and divine.  Such a sexy dress, without having to show off the most obviously sexy parts of a woman.  A bare sexy back can always do the trick!

Tilda Swinton is probably one of the most talented actresses we have right now.  I'm really looking forward to seeing her film, "We Need to Talk About Kevin" (Director Lynne Ramsey is also one of my favs).    In addition to her genius on the big screen, she is also such a style icon for me.  Her look on the red carpet was breathtaking with style being very androgynous but also elegant.  She is so fashion foward, and I love that she's rocking this Haider Ackermann  tuxedo dress.

What were your favorite dresses from that night?

This is batik.

I was looking over at Park and Cube's website, and I found 2 posts where she was wearing one of the most amazing jackets I have ever laid eyes on (that wasn't leather).  Granted, my muubaa distressed gray jacket is quite like this, but the batik pattern on this cotton zip jacket is so stunning and visually arresting that my eyes flashed open so wide just so I could fully remember all the details of it.

I really do adore this printed jacket, especially because of this color.  If it was in any other color, I probably wouldn't like it much at all...since the batik print is already so bold.  I love the zip detail..it's like the chanel-like zara jacket that came out this past autumn.  I would really just unzip all those zippers all the time and leave everything hanging in pieces to make it oh-so-drapey and choppy.

The one thing I don't really like is the intense shoulder pads...I already have such broad shoulders, I don't want my shoulders to look too much bigger.  I don't want to look like a football player, please.  Other than this factor, this jacket is on the top of my list of wants.  Thank you Zemelka Pirowska for making this, and thank you ParkandCube for showing me the way!

What do you guys think? :)

This is OAK.

Oak NYC (one of my favorite stores) is having their 304050 sale.  One of my favorite times of the year since I very well could buy everything in this store if I could.  The buyers of this showroom have the most amazing sense of style and fashion...everything from Rick Owens to Alexander Wang to Kai-Aakmann  More importantly, the OAK brand is quite incredible as well.  I have a number of their plain tees, and they're the softest things I have ever worn...quite possibly the most comfortable tees ever (and I'm comparing to Alexander Wang and Helmut Lang).

They're also known for their really skinny black jeans...which I have yet to try.  They're so skinny that they encourage you to size up...plus they're unisex.  How cool is that!

Most of their stuff are  of the black, white, neutral variety.  That's my color palette.  This is my number one store. Their site is always up my tabs, and I'm always visiting here when I'm in NYC.  I hope you enjoy!!!

                                                                    Love ^_^ Love

This is Alexander Wang.

These are my favorite looks from Alexander Wang's Pre-Fall 2012 Collection.  I love the mix of textures and fabrics.  Like Helmut Lang's pre-fall '12 collection, I see they have a cut-out style going with some of their pieces.  Could that be the new trend?? Cut-outs?!  To be honest, I haven't felt comfortable with huge sheer pieces on your garment...like sheer sleeves on a blazer or a sheer back on a top, but I really like that there are patterns to the sheerness and that the cut-outs have really complicated geometric designs.  That being said, layering intricate cut-out/semi sheer pieces over tanks and under opaque and blocky vests seem like a good way to move foward to me!!!

I really love that very last look.  I would wear that exact same outfit in a FLASH!  yay 2012!

This is faux fury.

faux fury

faux fury by mawes featuring a slim vest

Halston Heritage slim vest
$207 - bergdorfgoodman.com

Rachel Zoe fake fur vest
$225 - saksfifthavenue.com

For some reason, I've been obsessing over faux fur vests.  When I came across pictures of Rachel Zoe's faux fur vest, I knew it was perfection.  I like the color of it with the leather trim.  It seems like it can be styled both dressed up and you can also dress it down.  Tough but delicate.  I like that combo.  The Halston Heritage vest is pretty righteous too...in a brighter color.

I just like that you can wear these vests with a plain tee.  I'm always looking for ways to glam up my regular black skinnies and plain tee outfits.

This is Carborundum.

I know, I'm so into etsy right now.  I'm really into this one shop that seals very natural textures into resin jewelry.  Very Jurassic Park.  Now, this shop started to make pieces with carborundum.  I instantly fell in love because 1. it's black 2. the textures are out of this world (or very much so a part of our world ^_^ hahah)

Such fun pieces.  I've been wanting something from here for a while.

You might be familiar with this shop's moss rings like the one pictured below.
